You pay for monitors. Nothing else.
A monitor costs us a check to run, so that's what we count. Clients, projects, status pages and everyone subscribed to them cost us nothing, so we never charge you for those.
Why does my invoice say a different name?
Because we renamed the plans on this page and not in the billing system. Hatchling is Free, Fledgling is Developer, Huddle is Team, Colony is Business and Rookery is Agency — every card says which is which. Checkout, your invoice and the app itself use the billed name only. If that ever stops being obvious, the friendlier names are the ones that go.
Can I use the free plan for work I’m paid for?
Yes. Ten monitors on five-minute checks, on work you are getting paid for, with no hobby-only clause. We say it out loud because the biggest free tier in this category quietly stopped allowing commercial use in December 2024 and a lot of people found out the hard way.
Are there features you haven’t built yet?
Yes, and none of them are on these plans. Things like on-call rotations and SLO reporting are still ahead of us, so they’re not listed on any tier and you are never charged for them — a plan only shows what the product does today. The full list of what’s planned, and where it stands, is on the roadmap on the home page.
What happens when I hit my monitor limit?
You can’t add another until you upgrade or remove one. Everything you already have keeps getting checked, and there’s no surprise overage bill, because there’s nothing to go over. The limit is the price.
Do subscribers or team members ever change the bill?
No. Subscribers are never counted at all. Team members are unlimited on Colony and Rookery, and only capped on Huddle, at five.

Prices per workspace per month. Hatchling, Fledgling, Huddle, Colony and Rookery are our names for the plans; the billed name is on every card and on your invoice. The plan table in the product is the source of truth and this page mirrors it.
What we don’t charge for
None of these cost us more as you grow. Most of this category charges for all four anyway, which is why your bill tends to move when your business does instead of when your usage does.
- Status page subscribers
- Not counted
- Statuspage steps 250 at $29 to 25,000 at $1,499. Better Stack adds $40 per 1,000 per month.
- Status pages
- One per project, plus a workspace-wide page
- Better Stack charges $15 per extra page, and $250 a month per page to take their branding off it.
- Projects
- Unlimited from Huddle, at $19
- Atlassian bills audience-specific pages from $300 a month each. Forty of them is about $12,000 a year.
- Team members
- Unlimited on Colony and Rookery
- Better Stack is $34 per responder per month, plus $9 each for incident workflows.
Competitor prices are monthly list, read off their own pricing pages in August 2026.
